NEW OFFICE AND MORE OPPORTUNITIES IN THE UK
#corporatenews, #iot
Teltonika’s largest international expansion continues, with the establishment of a new office in Manchester, United Kingdom. By 2025, we are planning to have representative offices in 30 countries worldwide.
Earlier this year, we announced opening of our office in Italy, with Stefano Nordio in charge, who has successfully started expansion of the local team in Milan. This time we would like to introduce the newly appointed head of Teltonika’s UK office, Ciaran Harkin, and his vision for the UK market.
Could you please briefly introduce yourself? What is your professional background?
My background is varied, working for PLC and SME companies, both UK-based and multinational. Most recently, I was leading my own business before successfully exiting at the end of 2023. I've held senior leadership positions in a number of sectors that are heavily linked to Teltonika products, including aviation, telecommunications, automotive, and renewable energy.
How much have you known about Teltonika before becoming head of UK’s office?
I honestly had never heard of Teltonika before. My plans for 2024 were to work less. However, when I learnt about Teltonika online, I became very interested. I love the fact that it is a family-owned company group and has such a strong heritage in product engineering. The way the organisation sets out its future plans is very inspiring. That’s why I wanted to join.
What motivated you to accept Teltonika’s job offer?
I loved the fact that Teltonika was directly investing into the UK and Irish markets to support its clients and accelerate the growth of the company group. With where I was in my career, I believed I could genuinely help Teltonika to do just that, whilst also admitting that I was particularly excited by its EV charging and EMS solutions, which I have a background in and believe the opportunity to be huge.
What are your first business goals and plans for the Manchester office?
Developing our UK infrastructure. That means recruiting a great team of product specialists, technical support engineers, and account managers to truly support our clients in the UK and Ireland. We will immediately look to increase our headcount to around 20 people by the end of this year, ensuring they have all the tools they need to provide the best possible service for our clients.
What makes the UK market unique, and what opportunities are there for Teltonika?
The UK market purchases goods from around the world. This is normally to access competitive pricing. But as UK sentiment changes to that of wanting to do business closer to its shores, and a need for better service, I feel Teltonika and Lithuania are very well-positioned to meet the needs of our clients. Our investment into a strong, in-country, aftercare infrastructure will ideally enable us to give clients the service levels they desire, whilst also bringing them great value and high-quality products, directly manufactured from the EU.
