Despite all the difficulties this year has brought upon the world, we haven’t stopped creating, innovating and producing devices that help businesses and people. We hope that our perseverance will inspire you to strive for the best, grow and pursue your goals, no matter big or small.

2022 was a very productive year. During the year, we launched more than 30 new products, our production surpassed 5 million IoT devices, and the Group's turnover grew by more than 30% to €283 million.

Here are some more facts about the Teltonika Group's most significant achievements in 2022.

The highlight of the year

On January 7, we buried a symbolic time capsule on the construction site in Molėtai, Lithuania. In just over nine months, a modern technology centre emerged there, with a bright blue Teltonika logo adorning its façade. The Teltonika Technology Centre project cost 34 million euros, making it the largest business investment in Molėtai of all time.

The centre has already employed around 150 specialists who are developing and manufacturing high-tech connectivity devices, such as 4G and 5G routers, and our newest EV charging solutions. We also hope to start the production of state-of-the-art medical smartwatches and artificial lung ventilation devices in Molėtai in the near future.

We are more than happy that the Teltonika Technology Centre will contribute to the region’s prosperity and encourage people to build their future there.

Company of the year

Since 2018, we have been widely applying the Adizes methodology in our company group. The Adizes Methodology for Organizational Transformation, developed by Dr Ichak Kalderon Adizes, provides tools for organizations to achieve exceptional results and manage accelerated change without destructive conflict.

This methodology helped Teltonika grow faster by embracing changes, empowering employees, managing more effectively and fostering a culture of mutual trust and respect. This year, the Adizes Institute Worldwide has awarded Teltonika as Company of the Year 2021 for achieving exceptional results on a global scale by adopting the Adizes methodology.

The 5G era launch

We have always been motivated by our desire to innovate and create ground-breaking technologies, and this year was truly special. Teltonika Networks launched a new generation of superior networking devices – the new RUTX50 router and TRB500 gateway. These new 5G devices feature significantly higher data transfer speeds, wider bandwidth and minimal latency.

The company’s talented engineers developed both products in about 1.5 years. Giedrius Kukauskas, CEO of Teltonika Networks, shared his excitement for the new era, “The 5G era is beginning. Our new products will enable faster data speeds than ever before, provide greater reliability and significantly reduce latency. The use cases for 5G products are wide-ranging, as virtually the vast majority of solutions will migrate to 5G in the future, and businesses are preparing for this now. These products also work well in 4G networks, so it is worth choosing 5G equipment now when building network infrastructure.”

Two gold medalists

Another outstanding achievement this year – Teltonika won gold medals for two products in the traditional competition Lithuanian Product of the Year, organised by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists. The winners were the electric vehicle charger TeltoCharge, developed by Teltonika Energy, and the EYE sensor monitoring device by Teltonika Telematics.

The other gold medallist, the EYE Sensor, is a robust device used for vehicle tracking in different fields, e.g., logistics, construction, agriculture, motorsports and car rental services. It monitors an object’s status and such parameters as temperature, humidity, movement and magnet detection. As Antanas Šegžda, CEO of Teltonika Telematics, said, “It is a great honour for us to be recognised in the Lithuanian Product of the Year awards, which is considered to be almost the most important by the country’s business community. It is the merit of the entire Teltonika Telematics team, from programmers to salespeople. We are all responsible for the success of our products.”

Distinguished award for the founder

The Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists acknowledged not only Teltonika’s products but also the company’s founder. Arvydas Paukštys received one of the most important awards in the industrial business community – the Petras Vileišis nomination. The president of the Teltonika company group was recognised for his personal merits in business, improvement of the business environment and culture and his active participation in public activities.

CEO of the year

We have been elated by the recent news that two of our leaders have earned widespread recognition in the business community this year. Antanas Šegžda, CEO of Teltonika Telematics, won one of the three nominations in the CEO of the Year 2022 awards organised by the Lithuanian business daily Verslo žinios – he received the highest number of votes from the readers, also he was one of the top five finalists in the CEO of the Year 2022 nomination. The awards aim to acknowledge the CEO who has created the most value for society, employees and shareholders during the year.

The CEO of Teltonika EMS, Simas Rutkauskas, also received great appreciation. He was one of the nine finalists in the Young CEO 2022 nomination. We congratulate our leaders and wish them even more personal and professional accomplishments!

Welcoming honourable guests

The year 2022 was full of visits for Teltonika, especially for Teltonika EMS, which hosted countless honourable guests and gave numerous factory tours.

Among the distinguished guests was the Commissioner for the Internal Market of the EU, Thierry Breton, joined by other members of the European Commission and the Lithuanian Minister of the Economy and Innovation. The subject matter of the visit was the semiconductor chip industry and the European Chips Act.

We were also delighted to receive a team of semiconductor research experts and scientists from Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). The delegation of more than 30 people shared insights on ways of cooperation with Teltonika in the field of semiconductor technologies and developing employee competencies in this field.

Securing funds for development and expansion

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted 50 million euros in funding to the Teltonika company group. The support of such an authoritative organisation further proves the strategic importance of the internet of things industry and shows that we are on the right path. According to the president of Teltonika, the funds have been allocated to three areas: the construction of the Teltonika Technology Centre in Molėtai, the expansion of production capacity and further research, development and innovation activities.

Teltonika received another large loan from Swedbank. The granted 30 million euros funding was allocated specifically to the construction of Teltonika’s headquarters at Saltoniškių str. 14 in Vilnius. The head office will be the focal point from where we will coordinate the activities of all divisions around the world. The building is projected to be completed by the end of 2023.

The artificial lung ventilator: new level accomplished

Teltonika Telemedic celebrated another milestone in the development of an artificial lung ventilation device. Doctors at Vilnius and Kaunas clinics successfully tested the latest prototype. Thus, we are proud to say that the device has already reached level six on the Technical Readiness Level scale.

It means that the TeltoMed artificial lung ventilator has all the necessary electronic and pneumatic components, can operate in two modes out of planned thirteen, and is controlled by a high-resolution touch screen. The development of such a device required skills in the design of complex mechanical parts and electronic components as well as mastery of the laws of physics and the dynamics of air.

Equally important milestone is the exclusive patent for the secure remote data transmission and control of artificial lung ventilation equipment. This patent, only few global medical device manufacturers can offer, proves that TeltoMed's built-in technologies allow for the security of all patient data, while the communication with the equipment is reliable and stable.

"Working together with Vilnius University researchers, we have developed a system concept that not only protects the artificial lung ventilation equipment from hacking, but also guarantees reliable data transmission. This patent proves that we are developing innovations that can be adopted by hospitals around the world. We are happy to help healthcare professionals and make their daily work easier," says Martynas Osauskas, CEO of Teltonika Telemedic.
